Freudenberg NOK Mechatronics – from flat
wiring to mechatronics

The development company Freudenberg NOK Mechatronics was founded in 2002 as a joint venture of the German Freudenberg group and the Japanese industrial corporation NOK.

With the incorporation of the production location in Pécel (Hungary), initial steps were taken towards the industrialisation of mechatronic solutions. With the acquisition of the Delphi production site for flat wiring technology in Berlin and the associated development department in Wuppertal, the groundwork was laid in July 2006 for a successful future for the enterprise.

Today, Freudenberg NOK Mechatronics GmbH & Co. KG (FNM) has the largest portfolio of flat conductors worldwide. We develop individual, innovative solutions for our customers, using ultra-modern manufacturing processes.

FNM has become firmly established in the automotive field as a supplier of flexible printed circuits for large-surface applications.

The core product of FNM - the large flexible printed circuit - provides the basis for all mechatronic solutions, the FPCplus. It is suited to nearly any conceivable installation space, offers maximum freedom of design, enables weight reduction and quality improvement while at the same time allowing for cost optimisation.

We at FNM firmly believe the FPCplus is more than a mere connection medium. Used as a basis, it allows the integration of switches, sensors, LEDs and an array of other mechatronic and electronic components. Our integrated approach to solutions thus ranges from simple sub-assemblies to complex applications with a high degree of functional integration.

The FPCplus has been steadily developing into the standard technology of the industry, and it will become an integral part of vehicles in the future.
